finally.
Hmm, I guess I shall start with my overseas trip, although it was weeks ago. Heehee, I lazy to post.
19nov
We took the direct flight to LA, and it was ALL business class seats (: But the seat is as big as first class ones, cause you can put it down into a bed-like thing (which is flat).
I watched :
500 days of summer
Anastasia
The girl who leapt through time
The proposal
Gokusen : The Movie (watched halfway)
I ran out of time to watch the last one. Sad ): It was a nice movie. I didnt even get to watch Harry Potter. But those movies were still there in December though...
Ooh, and the buildings there are practically flat. As in, no more than 2 or 3 storeys high - except for the city area lah. Looking at the buildings from the airplane, you'll practically see a piece of flat land.
Checked into the hotel, and we got 4 free chocolate chip cookies (chewy ones). Yay. Actually we wanted 2 connecting rooms, but they gave us 1 upgraded room instead, which is something like a suite.
It was dinner time already. We walked over the the mall opposite the hotel, and had dinner at the foodcourt.
(Did I mention that a giant Barnes and Nobles was just beside the mall and see-able from the hotel, and Borders was just down the road?)
20nov
We lazy pigs woke up too late to go for breakfast ): Papa went to collect the car while the rest of us got ready. And the person at the car collection place was very nice to charge us only US$10 extra per day to upgrade the car to an SUV, and activated the GPS for us for free. So nice right?
And papa said that if you buy cookies in the evening, they tend to give you extra :D
After lunch, we drove to CostCo to look at and buy some stuff.
Then went to Target. Ohmygod, they actually have square-shaped paper plates you know... Well, its the first time I've seen something like this. Target was much better.
Then we went to Cinnabon for a snack. Tea time mah... Yum (:
Papa had to bring the clothes to the Laundry, and it was OPPOSITE BORDERS. ohmygod. And all the mangas were located just beside the Young Adult Fiction section. Hahaha, happiness. Bought Tempted (:
Collected the clothes and went to meet Mummy, before going to eat dinner. Went to eat Vietnamese beef noodles. It was very nice leh. Next time I shall ask Levi to make it for me...
21nov
Finally we woke up early enough to go for breakfast. American breakfast. Yummy. Denny's de has brown rocks!
Then we drove to California Disneyland (: I love water rides
And Splash Mountain got me super wet. Water even splashed into my socks and my pants all wet. And the slope was super steep and scary, but FUN.
Then there was a Christmas parade.
We went over to the other park, called California Colourful something. Nothing much to see, cause it was quite late already.
There was a fireworks show at Disneyland after that. The smiley face firework was damn cute ehh.
22nov
We woke up damn late today. Or rather, I woke up quite late and refused to lift my big butt off the bed. So we skipped breakfast and went for lunch instead. And the food portion is damn big. Fortune cookies are yummy.
We went to Universal Studios Hollywood. Compared to Disneyland, this place was practically empty. And there are lesser rides and more shows to watch.
This Universal Studio also doesnt have all the older rides. No Jaws, and no beloved E.T. ride. Sad ): But Jurassic Park was still there. Jurassic Park was fun (: My heart nearly came out of my mouth.
Ohmygod, and the walk through haunted house thing was damn scary.
And we learned how they create some special effects in movies.
Arghhh, there was a Simpsons ride too. DAMN CUTE. Its a simulator type ride. Not scary, but my mummy said it was scary.
23nov
This time, we went to Spirels for breakfast, to try out their stuff, but Danny's was still nicer anyway.
Then went back to the hotel to check out.
Drove along those cool dessert(?) highways to Las Vegas to gamble. No lah, I underage cannot gamble. Me and Ervin Lee started being lame and took pictures of the place.
Stopped halfway for a snack. And saw this very nice Ralph Lauren Polo jacket, but Mummy said to buy it only when there was a better price nearer to Thanksgiving sale.
Las Vegas was quite pretty, with all the lighted buildings at night. And many many many casinos.
We stayed at the Venetian. And THE FREAKING TOILET DOOR HAS NOT LOCK ON IT. Oh gosh.
We went out to walk along the street, and had dinner at Panda Express, which is a fast-food-like-place that serves Chinese food. Okay, I'm confused.
Then papa brought me to the wax museum. Which was scary. Cause the wax statues all look so freaking real. I thought the first ones I saw were humans in disguise...
24nov
We skipped breakfast, and had cup noodles instead. And stupid bro kept coming over to steal mine. Hmph.
Then we walked to Paris Paris hotel to eat buffet. And their buffet has A LOT OF FOOD. As in, a lot of things to choose from.
We then went over to Ceasars Palace hotel to watch the free show.
We wanted to watch the water show at the Bellagio hotel, but it was delayed because some crazy man got into the middle of the water, and the police had to come and take him away. This wasted about 1hour of our time. The man refused to get out of the water until the police finally took out a gun and pointed it at him. Finally we were able to watch the show in peace. And my toes were shivering by the time we went indoors.
And we saw many limosines today. I like the black ones.
25nov
We went for breakfast at Denny's. We were supposed to go to Grand Canyon, but it was Thanksgiving Eve, and the route we took was heading towards Arizona, so there was a jam. Sad.
We went to Hoover Dam instead, since it was on the way there. Nothing much to see, its just a dam, and the only amazing thing is that people spent much effort building it. I got a nice bookmark and some stones as a souvenir though.
Then drove back to Las Vegas, where we ate late lunch or early dinner. We found a Penang restaurant, and the food there is damn nice. I guess thats cause the people working there are all from Malaysia. The chef is from Penang, and the waitress is from dunno which part of Malaysia.
Then Mummy went shopping, while Ervin Lee and papa went to watch a David Copperfield show. I just stayed in the room and watched tv, and slacked.
26nov
Skipped breakfast and went to have lunch at that Penang place again.
Then drove to a mall in Las Vegas, where I bought that nice jacket I saw in Polo Ralph Lauren. And bought socks and a winter hat. Nice.
Back to LA again. Went to buy fried rice and fried noodles, takeaway. 1 each. They were so large a packet that my family couldnt even finish it all. Waste food.
27nov
Went to Desert Hills to shop, since it was Thanksgiving and there was lots of sales. Discounts, discounts, discounts. My mummy very very happy lorh. She bought quite a number of things, and they were all branded. What the heck.
28nov
I'd like to think of this day as one of the happiest days in my life, cause I got to spend the entire day in the bookshop.
Barnes and Nobles. Borders (:
After breakfast, I went over to Barnes and Nobles to look at books. Read some Inuyasha, and Kitchen Princess. And now I have a list of mangas I wanna read. But I bet many of them are not even completely released or translated yet. Sad.
After dinner, went over to Borders. Read Inuyasha and Kitchen Princess again. I read the missing volume of Kitchen Princess that Barnes and Nobles didnt have here, but then I would have to return to Barnes and Nobles to read the missing volume of Kitchen Princess that Borders doesnt have.
Never mind if you dont understand that complicated statement.
what happened after that
Honestly, I have no idea. Cause I didnt record down. Haha.
But we went to Tokyo after that. Yay, I love Japan. I think its my 2nd or 3rd time in TOKYO, not JAPAN. Which means I've been to Japan many times, which gives you a hint that my mummy likes it too (since she is the one that makes all the decisions).
I suggest that if anyone of you go to Japan next time, go find the arcade in the shopping malls. There is sure to be one in every few shopping malls.
Lets see :
I ate Yakisoba, Udon, Sushi, Spaghetti, on my whole trip there. 3days horh. Not one day. I cant possibly eat all those in 1 day. I'll become fatter, and I dun wish to grow horizontally. No thanks.
Bought much yummy stuff back to Singapore (:
Oh and we also went to the village.
Do you know how they kill the eels that you eat in Japanese meals?
1. They grab an eel that is still alive and moving in a bucketful of eels.
2. They nail its head to the wooden board.
3. They chop off its head, and throw the head away.
4. They slit the body into half and remove the organs in the middle.
5. They chop them further into 2 and poke them into a wooden satay stick and prepare to grill them.
Ew. Go to the villages to look at the process LIVE. But dont go and eat the eels there cause they are such poor things ):
Okay, I wanna end the post here and go sleep soon.
Bye (:
